Redlands Reservist Gets Call From President Bush

I just picked this up from the AP and thought it was pretty neat. I have to say it will be sad to see President Bush go. I know there's been a lot he has done that not everyone agrees with, but such is life. I think it's pretty much impossible to ever have anyone you agree with politically on every single policy or issue. Nonetheless, even though he's done things I completely disapprove of- I have to say, I always feel like he does what he thinks is right. Love him or hate him, one must admit that's an admirable quality- to stand up for your convictions and not for what's popular.
Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving, and never forget those whom make it possible for us to live in this great country: our brave men and women in uniform serving this country at home and abroad; past and present.
Redlands Reservist Gets Call from Bush
A reservist from Redlands was among 11 members of the armed forces who received a Thanksgiving Day phone call from President Bush.
The White House press office said the president called Sgt. Shannon M. Dyer of Redlands, who is on her second tour of duty in Iraq to train local police.
According to press secretary Dana Perino, the president thanked the troops he called "for being out there and securing our country's future," adding that he was proud of their service.
The people who received calls are stationed around the world, including in Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and Bahrain.
