I was just watching Fox News and came across this extremely powerful and beautifully crafted ad entitled To Our Leaders: SAVE US- Give Us 100% Clean Energy in 10 Years. I strongly encourage you all to watch it.
It's put on by an organization called WE. The We Campaign is a non-profit, non-partisan effort and is a project of the the Alliance for Climate Protection.
Regardless of one's stance on environmental issues and protection, it is safe to say something must be done to address the current gasoline prices.

I feel so out of the loop - this just came to my attention last week:

It was rolled out last year, but the first production models are actually rolling out this month - 600/month to lease a gas free vehicle, but you have to get hydrogen shipped to your house or live near one of five LA County gas stations selling hydrogen.
I think tax incentives for new technologies are the fastest way to get there - it's a huge uphill battle, though, and Oil is going to fight us every step of the way.
You are NUTS if you think getting everyone into expensive and unrealistic pipe dreams like solar, hydrogen, and wind will do anything to energy prices except increase them enormously.
You know the WE effort is a big fraud because the #1 clean energy in America is nuclear ... and how much is nuclear mentioned? Never? WTF!?!?
Solar and wind TOGETHER are less than 1% of electrical generation. You know how much it would cost to rip out our current power generation and replace it in 10 years with solar and wind? IT'S A TRILLION DOLLAR BOONDOGGLE.
No WONDER Pelosi is invested in wind and Gore has stakes in carbon-trading deals. They are going to make big $$$$ on this scam.
And the heart of the scam is the lie that we are in a climate 'crisis', when temperatures are actually lower than they were 20 years ago.
We need a pro-energy policy not an anti-energy policy. That means:
- Do ALL of it - coal, nuclear, oil, nat gas, solar, wind other alternatives
- Reduce subsidies, like on ethanol
- encourage the building of 400 clean, efficient, safe, economical nuclear power plants in the next generation.
No Co2 emissions, no pollution, no money to foreign despots.
"WE" is a fraud.
If you notice, I wasn't necessarily endorsing nor dissing the organization. Rather, I just thought it was a powerful ad and thought I'd post it for you all. :)
However, I do agree the solutions to our energy crisis must not burden Americans more than they already are.
