Illegal Immigrants: College Education Courtesy of Taxpayers

The San Bernardino Superintendent of Schools has just issued a new brochure to inform illegal immigrants of their "right" to pursue higher education in California.
Accordingly, a state law (AB 540) allows longtime residents, which includes illegal immigrants, to pay in-state tuition fees at public colleges and universities. On the national level, the Supreme Court has ruled that illegal immigrants are entitled to a "free" public education from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The brochure is available, of course, in both Spanish and English. Regardless of partisanship, those of us whom pay taxes should be furious. Read the full story here.
This is utterly ridiculous that not only do we allow illegal immigrants to stay, but that we pay for their education and healthcare as well- and now we are advertising our "generousity"? Is it just me, or has someone been drinking San Francisco's Kool-Aid?
Education is the key to success in life. But perhaps what we should be "educating" our politicians and illegal immigrants on is how to become a legal citizen of this country- and not how persons here illegally can milk the system.

AB-540 continues an investement that this state has made on our students. Attending public education is federally mandated for ALL students. If they hapenned to be savy enough to prepare themselves for college, why not continue that investment. Studies show they are loyal to our country, so why not let them. Currently, there is no legal pathway for them to legalize themselves, so until then, they are doing all they can to follow the law. It is morally unjust for us to punish children for their parents actions....so get over it.
Please do your research before you write again.
Oh and guess what, undocumented immigrants are tax-payers too.
