Upland Councilman Ray Musser -- In the Barrel?

Posted by: Shoeless Joe | 06/06/2008 2:50 PM

Last week the Upland city council passed a resolution prohibiting councilmembers from using city stationary and envelopes for personal business or campaign use.  It was an odd action because elected officials should know better.

Apparently, Councilman Musser has been known to use city stationary for his insurance business ... sort of trolling for new business on the taxpayers dime.  That's a no-no by any standard.

The MSM missed Resolution 2008-3 (May 27, 2008).  Someone in the community must have complained to cause the adoption of an official resolution.

Someone complained? Have you read the resolution? It's laughable.

Thou shalt not steal . . . thou shalt not interfere with city employees.

Why would you resolve yourself to refrain from committing a crime?

Isn’t that part of the oath of office?

The real Ray Musser has come out. The Choir Singing, Hand shaking, "put me in Front of every Picture" taking Councilman has finally been caught with his hand in the City's "Cookie Jar". One of my friend's husband passed away and his widow showed me this pamphlet that seemed to have come from City Hall. It was from City Hall however, Mr. Musser's name and advertising was mixed in with all the city information. Shame on this self-righteous" man. I have been a resident of this GREAT city for over 45 years. Now he wants to be the Mayor...I don't think this is the kind of man we want leading our city. There is no room for UNgracious leadership in the "City of Gracious Living."

Well Mr. Musser, apparently you feel that you don't have to abide by the same rules as other law abiding councilmembers. You have to ask yourself, is what Mr. Musser did wrong? Absolutly. Did Mr. Musser know that what he was doing was wrong? Absolutly. So my question is, why would any intelligent voter for the City of Upland support someone who voluntarily abuses his position as a current City Councilman. "NOT I".There's a great quote that goes as follows " Desperate people do desperate things in desperate times", well Mr. Musser, apparently this quote fits.

If the City Council and the City Attorney are aware of violations of the law by one of their own, passing a resolution against it is not enough. They are required by law to report any violation of the law to the District Attorney for further investigation. If they don't, they are complicit in the lawbreaking and covering up for it themselves.

Does anyone know of other illegal or dishonest things Mr. Bible thumper Musser has done?

He placed signs in Ontario without resident's permission. HONEST

His sign vendor or his volunteers placed them on my yard, and a dozen other people's yards along San Antonio Avenue in Ontario.

If he just asked, he probably would of had his sign still on my yard.
