Rialto Superintendent Praises Bill Cosby's Message

Bill Cosby had some words of wisdom for parents during a speech at Carter High School this week. There was an interesting article in the Sun about how Rialto Unified School District Superintendent Edna Davis-Herring, one of two dozen black superintendents in California, endorsed Cosby's message as "a message that we all need to hear."
Cosby's message was one of parental responsiblility and traditional values- an appropriate message to a community whose district is struggling to meet achievement standards under the No Child Left Behind Act. Read the full story here: Cosby's Conservatism
"I think I'm very traditional. I think I'm conservative. I think I'm somewhat simplistic in terms of kids," said Davis-Herring.
It seems to me we need more people like this involved in our schools and community. In a world in which our schools textbooks promote secular views such as "gender neutrality", homosexuality, etc. -and as our schools in California to continue to fail to meet federal educational standards- something needs to be done.
My hat's off to Superintendent Davis-Herring and Bill Cosby. Bill Cosby has truly been a Hollywood celebrity who puts his money- and his time- where his mouth is. He has been a crusader for strong moral values, responsibility, and education for a very long time... If only more celebs would follow in his footsteps.
