In a dramatic defeat, San Bernardino City Councilman Neil Derry defeated five-term County Supervisor Dennis Hansberger in a heated battle for the Third District seat.

The final semi-official tally with all precincts reporting is as follows.

Derry                     18,222        52.37%

Hansberger            16,574        47.63%
