SBGOP Central Committee Endorses Mitzelfelt, Hansberger

The San Bernardino County Republican Central Committee voted this evening to endorse a slate of candidates for the June 3 election that included County Supervisors Brad Mitzelfelt and Dennis Hansberger.
The slate passed on a 21-6 vote following a failed attempt to pull Hansberger off. The vote was three votes over the two-thirds requirement.
First District Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt and Third District Candidate Neil Derry addressed the body. Hansberger, who hasn't appeared at the Committee in years did not attend.
Following dialogue regarding Hansberger's controversial votes supporting abortion pill funding, and endorsement of Democratic candidates, Supervisors Gary Ovitt and Paul Biane pleaded for Hansberger's endorsement in order to "Keep the team together".
Mitzelfelt, a perceived lock to win his first election campaign, has been a party supporter and activist for years, was easily endorsed without any apparent opposition.
The slate approved was brought forward by the Executive Board, which consists primarily of Hansberger's colleagues and their Chiefs of Staff.

Great! I am glad to hear the party is supporting these Sups. Hansberger has been a great leader in our community for many years. We are lucky to have him! Mitzelfelt's done a good job too filling in for Mr. Postmus.

The Old Boys Club strikes again. The County GOP once again shows its ineptitude by endorsing Hansberger, a scandal-plagued RINO who has helped to elect numerous liberal Democrats to local office including Pat Morris in San Bernardino and former Gray Davis District Director Pete Aguilar in Redlands.
Does anyone remember great Republicans Paul Horcher or Jay Kim? This election will be just as momentous.
