Economy Sours Electorate

Across the country the american electorate appears to be increasingly pessimistic about the future. Why? It's the economy stupid. Can you say "Recession" boys and girls!
Just imagine a time when people see their primary nest egg, that being their residence, plummet in value. Gasoline approaching and likely to surpass $4 bucks a gallon. Skyrocketing commodity prices causing food prices in some cases to more than double. How's $6 a gallon O.J.? High rates on credit cards and loans, the inability to refinance debt, bad loans, falling 401k's, increasining unemployment........
Well folks, that time is now, and the voter is angry, scared, and ready to punish at the ballot box.
An article published today on RealClearPolitics.com reports that 81% of respondents in a just released NY Times/CBS poll believe the Nation is headed in the wrong direction. The reading is up 12% since this time last year. And who is about to get the blame? Government and politicians!
Just this morning, the Labor Department reported a net loss of 80,000 jobs in March with the unemployment rate rising to 5.1%. Such headlines increase voter anxiety and cause consumer spending to tighten further contributing to the economic slide.
Being an incumbent anywhere regardless of party affiliation in the days to come is definitely not a good thing. People want change, and in many cases rightfully so. Voters now appear poised to whack anything or person that stands for the status quo.
While the Obama message of change continues to resonate nationwide, conditions are likely to worsen.
