BOS 3 Update: With 42 Days Remaining Hansberger Lists Campaign Issues

Today, five-term incumbent County Supervisor Dennis Hansberger listed on his campaign's website, the issues for his re-election bid to once again represent the residents of the Third District. With just 42 days remaining until Election Day, it would appear Hansberger only grudgingly performed this task of listing the 11 one-liners. It should be noted Hansberger announced his re-election bid over a year ago.
Honestly, I'm sure the Supervisor was hoping he wouldn't have to go down this route in the first place. But, I was starting to wonder if things in the Third District were just wonderful.
Of some surprise, is a couple of Hansberger's listed campaign issues. Most importantly, is his pledge to work at "Protecting Proposition 13". Believe me when I say, I'm sure Howard Jarvis is rolling over in his grave on this one. As previously covered on Red County, research of newspaper archives at the San Bernardino City Library revealed that Hansberger opposed Proposition 13 in 1978. As a matter of fact, it was the single issue that cost him his bid for election to the then-74th Assembly District seat, which he lost to the Honorable Bill Leonard.
Also, the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers' Association has endorsed Hansberger's opponent.
The second campaign issue highlighted by Hansberger is his committment in "Supporting Public Safety". Ironically, as of tonight no law enforcement group is supporting Hansberger for re-election, but instead overwhelmingly support the Supervisor's opponent.
One candid observation clear to this writer is the lack of effort and enthusiasm in the development and presention of the campaign issues.
