BOS 3 Update: Hansberger Rushing to Raise Funds

It seems Dennis Hansberger needs money, and needs it fast.
Just over the transom to Red County is a copy of a fundraising invite for the incumbent Third District Supervisor. The event, without a host committee, is a barbecue scheduled for May 3rd at the Sunset Hills Ranch in Redlands. The contribution levels for the affair range from $250 to $10,000, indicating the Supervisor is trying to squeeze his contributor base for a significant chunk of cash..
This late fundraising activity by the Hansberger campaign is symptomatic of the Supervisors weakening campaign position and declining poll numbers. The position previously put forward by this writer is that no amount of money can cure Hansberger's woes, a position that is being reinforced daily. Hansberger cannot re-invent himself. He's a five-term career politician, and nothing in the world short of plastic surgery and new identity can change this fact.
Hansberger's opponent, San Bernardino City Councilman Neil Derry has stunned the Hansberger camp with an aggressive campaign, accompanied by major organizational support and endorsements that has sent Hansberger scrambling. Red County has learned that Hansberger's own internal polling shows Derry with unexpected strength that has the Supervisor increasingly nervous.
Hansberger's donors need to start asking some hard questions at this point. And as a guide of what to ask, here is a few appetizers!
What's happened to make you need more money?
Didn't you say the election was in the bag?
Can you really lose this election?
Interestingly, this year Hansberger has started using the same Northern California fundraiser used by the Bill Postmus Assessor Committee. County records also show Hansberger has received contributions from Inland Empire PAC, a committee formed by Postmus and primarily funded by High Desert developers.
Also of note, campaign finance records show Hansberger reimbursing his former Chief of Staff Jim Foster for campaign related expenses.

So Dennis needs money...I guess that is why his campaign manager (CM)is his chief of staff. With the County paying Jim R's salary, I guess Dennis doesn't need to pay him; and BTW, I wonder if there is any campaigning being done on County time with County resources since Jim is so close at hand - just asking the question.
Well I don't really buy the smoke screen.
The Derry/Postmus/Richman connections are still deep. With two of the three feeling some heat lately from various sources, we can assume that the Derry campaign is fumbling.
Funny that Derry supporters are criticizing fundraising because they havent held a public event with any notable support. His support comes from a few sources that are transparent to all.
Speaking of county funded payroll, how are the myriad of Derry advisers doing these days?
Yes, Derry's support is transparent: Sheriff's Deputies, Firefighters, Police Officers, District Attorneys, and a growing list of contributors large and small.
Hansberger has, oh yeah, politicians.
Referring to connections Steve.
Isn't that like former Chief of Staff Jim Foster resigning from Hansberger's staff because he made a bundle of cash off a piece of county-owned land that he found in his fridge? O'h, that's right, it was next to that slice of banana cream pie.......
Is Jim Foster the same person who was forced to resign due to unethical practices while he was Chief of Staff for Hansberger. I guess they are still connected at the hip, I saw him and another guy very early in the day putting up Hansberger signs. Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure it was Hansberger's new Chief of Staff. I guess he does not work a full day for the County Supervisor, unless the tax payers were paying for him to put signs up?
