California Young Republicans Endorse Hagman for Assembly
Group Points to Experience and Energy as Reasons for Support

San Bernardino - Curt Hagman, mayor of the City of Chino Hills, and Republican candidate to replace Assemblyman Bob Huff in the 60th District, has just received a notice of endorsement from the California Young Republicans organization.

"As young Republicans we look to endorse candidates who carry the right type of experience and who show the energy to fight for our Republican ideals.  Curt has proved that he is a leader in a number of different issues and we believe him to be the best candidate to represent the 60th in Sacramento" stated Chairwoman Jennifer Rodriguez.

A nice pick-up by Hagman.

For those who don't know, there are two state YR organizations: the California Young Republicans and the Young Republican Federation of California. They split back in 1992 (if I recall the year correctly) along ideological lines: the YRFC being the conservative group, the CYRs more liberal and tied closely to then-Rep. Bill Thomas of Bakersfield.

I haven't followed it in a while and so don't know the size or extend of the philosophical divide between the two groups, or whether it is driven more by inertia and personalities.
