A new survey conducted by independent polling outfit Survey USA shows US Senator John McCainof Arizaona leading the race for the Republican Party presidential nomination among likely Florida GOP voters. Florida, the site of the Republican Party's next pivotal nomination battle, has been labeled by political analysts as a "must-win" contest for the struggling campaign of Rudolph Giuliani, whose White House dreams are increasingly being diminished as voters shun the two-term New York City mayor in favour of his conservative rivals.

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is a close third.

Here are SUSA's numbers, which also shows the fast fading candidacy of former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee continuing to sink into the political abyss:

McCain:  25%

Giuliani:  20%

Romney: 19%

Huckabee: 14%

It is all but certain there will be more polling as the calendar moves closer to Florida's January 29 Election Day.
