Most Recent Polling Outlook For Super Tuesday
Posted by: SB Insider | 01/30/2008 1:36 AM
As the Florida Republican Presidential Primary slips into history, with US Senator John McCain of Arizona winning the state's 57 delegates and generating tremendous momentum heading into next Tuesday's multi-state contests, I would like to post a roundup of recent independent public polling (where applicable) in states that have a Republican presidential primary election or nomination caucus on Tuesday February 5.
States where recent polling shows John McCain in the lead:
Arizona, California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Illinois and Oklahoma.
States where Mitt Romney is in the lead:
Colorado, Massachusetts, and Utah.
States where Mike Huckabee is in the lead:
Arkansas, Georgia, Missouri and Tennessee.
States where no recent polling has been conducted:
Delaware, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota and West Virginia.
In Alabama, there is a tie between McCain and Huckabee.
Ron Paul has a lead nowhere, except, perhaps, in his own mind.

These independent polls were commissioned prior to McCain's stunning Florida victory. It is not surprising that McCain is leading in his home state of Arizona, but it is noteworthy that McCain leads in the three states with the largest prize of delegates (California, New York and Illinois).
Mike Huckabee, a Southerner, is leading in Old Confederacy states and states that border Huckabee's native Arkansas. Not a surprise.
Mitt Romney leads in his adopted home state of Massachusetts as well as Utah and Colorado. It is widely believed by political analysts that Romney's unmatched strentgh in Utah stems from staunch voter support of his economic stimulus proposal.
Questions going forward for February 5: How much longer will Mitt spend Tagg's inheritance on what is quickly becoming an exercise in futility? How can Mike Huckabee still afford fuel and lodging? Will extremist Ron Paul ever gain his sanity?
...To be decided no later than February 5.

What makes you think California wants more of the same ol boz club???
Jon McCain is in bed with the immigrants rights groups and he hasn't changed the sheets!
Look who is in his team Juan Guttiarus?? Yeaah! More of the same ol crap!
Just like the stimulus package the checks to the citizens. THE ILLEGALS ARE GOING TO GET A CHECK!! 300 PER KID!!! REWARDED FOR STEALING AN ID AND SS# WHAT!?
That is what McCain is for oh yeah, I forgot to mention more money going to Mexico!!
WAKE UP! The are taking our country and we are letting them.
Yes McAmnesty might be leading in the polls, but remember that the California delegates are distributed by congressional district not by winner take-all. I think Governor Romney wins more delegates in California.
Would it help to re-register from Independent to Republican to vote for Romney in OC? Or is that even possible at this late date...
Patricia, it is to late to register as a Republicam, but you can send governor Romney a donation to help get the message out.
