Former US Senator Fred Dalton Thompson of Tennessee has just dropped out of the race for the Republican Party nomination for president. The veteran character actor and Capitol hill lobbyist's effort for the White House failed miserably in several early contests, such as New Hampshire where Thompson polled an embarrassing 1 percent.

4:00PM UPDATE: SB Board of Supervisors Vice Chair Gary Ovitt has just endorsed Mitt Romney's Campaign (Ovitt was previously a supporter of Senator Thompson's campaign).
Joins Senator Bob Dutton, Assemblyman Anthony Adams, Board Chairman Paul Biane, Supervisor Brad Mitzelfelt, Assessor Bill Postmus and many other SB elected officials that have pledged to support Governor Romney.
