Good news for John McCain, Mitt Romney and even Mike Huckabee.
More lousy news for Rudy:
On Wednesday January 23, 2008 a poll conducted by Marvin Field revealed a statistical tie for first place in California in the race for the Republican Party presidential nomination was released to the media. Field's numbers shows a too-close-to-call contest between US Senator John McCain and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, with McCain holding a four-point lead over Romney, well within the survey's margin of error.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is rumoured to still be an active GOP White House aspirant, was a distant third with support from only one in ten California Republican voters.
Today, another polling outfit shows a statistical first-place tie between John McCain, Mitt Romney and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Compounding a week's worth of terrible news for Rudy Giuliani, today's figures show the former New York City mayor statistically tied with the abandoned lacklustre White House candidacy of Fred Dalton Thompson.
Here are the latest California numbers in a poll conducted by the Los Angeles Times newspaper.
McCain: 22%
Mike Huckabee: 18%
Mitt Romney: 17%
Rudy Giuliani: 12%
Fred Dalton Thompson: 10%
Ron Paul: 6%
Remember, just 12 more days until the California primary.
Survey conducted January 18-22, 2008. 532 likely GOP voters. Margin of error: 5 points.
