Petitions are now on the street for Sarah's Law, the family notification ballot measure that is similar to last year's Proposition 85.  This new ballot measure differs from Prop 85 in one small way: it allows for a physician to report the pending abortion on a minor girl to a grandparent or adult sibling.  Churches throughout the state are gathering signatures to qualify Sarah's Law for the November 2008 ballot.  Early polling suggests more support for family notification over parental notification.  If history repeats itself, the campaign will turn in over a million signatures which is necessary for a constitutional amendment by the middle of April  More to follow as the signature gathering effort, both volunteer and paid, continues.
