E.R. to close down - San Bernardino Sun

No, it is not a news story on the television writers' strike, it is far more serious:Colorado River Medical Center, the only hospital in the Needles area, plans to close its emergency room doors on Dec. 26 even as county supervisors consider a possible bailout package. 

Yucaipa and Highland could soon join a growing list of San Bernardino County cities that make use of red-light cameras at intersections.

A push of a button may soon enable police, firefighters, paramedics and code enforcement officers to access gated apartment complexes, mobile-home parks and even city yards and facilities during emergencies.
