2008 Presidential Campaign Watch: Romney Maintains Lead In New Hampshire

Posted by: SB Insider | 12/06/2007 7:47 PM

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney continues to be the top choice of likely New Hampshire Republican Party presidential primary voters. In a recently published independent survey conducted by Fox News/Opinion Dynamics, Mitt Romney, the immediate past governor of neighbouring Massachusetts, has a strong 8-point lead over his closest challenger.

Several polls have shown similar results of a solid Romney advantage among Granite State voters.

Here are the results of the Fox News survey:

Romney:  29%

US Senator John McCain of Arizona:  21%

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani:  19%

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee:  7%

Congressman Ron Paul of Texas:  4%

Former US Senator Fred Dalton Thompson of New Hampshire:  4%

New Hampshire's GOP presidential primary is January 8.
