Here is how the Congressional delegation voted on overriding President George W. Bush's decision to veto bipartisan legislation that would provide for the conservation and development of water and related resources, to authorize the Secretary of the Army to construct various projects for improvements to rivers and harbors of the United States, and for other purposes.
The bill is H.R. 1495, the Water Resources Development Act of 2007. The vote to override President Bush's veto was 361-54 in the United States House of Representatives and 79-14 in the US Senate.
Here is the San Bernardino County Congressional roll call vote. A "nay" vote sustains the presidential veto:
Buck McKeon (R-CD 25) Nay
David Dreier (R-CD 26) Yea
Jerry Lewis (R-CD 41) Nay
Gary Miller (R-CD 42) Yea
Joe Baca (D-CD 43) Yea
Additionally, California's two US Senators (Democrats Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer) voted to override President Bush's veto.
The vote to override drew wide bipartisan support across ideological lines, with conservative Republican US Senator James Inhofe of Oklahoma joining leftist US Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont in support of the bill's passage.
