It's election night in San Bernardino County, and the polls have just closed - meaning San Bernardino County's 2007 election is now history. History, except for the tabulation of votes cast in races concerning education districts and municipal offices.
Red County San Bernardino is live at the Gourmet Restaurant in the city of San Bernardino - site of the joint election night party of City Attorney candidate Jim Penman, Ward Seven City Council Candidate Wendy McCammack, and Ward Six City Council candidate Betty Dean Anderson. Here is the first report.
All the aforementioned candidates are already at the campaign wrap party. Free food and soft drinks are being served to supporters of the candidates.
Nearly 50 people are already here. A photographer for the San Bernardino Sun newspaper is here snapping photos of the gathering as they began to crowd around a small laptop computer awaiting election returns.
A podium is prepared for speeches, which will likely occur later as the evening progresses.
A large dry-erase board with all of San Bernardino's municipal races stands blank, ready to be marked with results.
