The status at the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters remains the same as during the last post.

However, I am struck by a few things...

For one, why, in an age where even the San Bernardino Sun can provide live video coverage of a relatively minor election, are we still shelling paper ballots by hand? Surely there must be a better way.

Ah, there is a better way. And that way is in the photo of the ballot counters below. Those dark boxes represent the electronic voting machines, purchased by the County of San Bernardino, and recently de-certified by our Democratic Secretary of State, Debra Bowen.

The SB Insider understands the need for security in the voting process. But a purely paper ballot system is not only inefficient, it is not needed thanks to modern technology.
