2008 Rialto City Elections Update: Potential City Clerk Candidate Will Not Run

Thanks to the outstanding legwork of San Bernardino Sun reporter Robert Rogers for breaking this story in the Sun's print editions as well as the Sun's weblog, SBnow.
Julie Frazier-Mathews, a top staffer in the office of San Bernardino City Mayor Pat Morris, will not run for Rialto City Clerk after all, as she had been planning to do so. Frazier-Mathews was the subject of a San Bernardino sun report in which she appeared to be planning a campaign for the position - albeit in a possibly ethically-questionable manner.
Today, however, Julie Frazier-Mathews was reported as telling the San Bernardino Sun "I'm totally committed to this administration and the city of San Bernardino, and I have no intentions or desires of running for city clerk in the city of Rialto in 2008."
Rialto's incumbent City Clerk is Barbara McGee, who was re-elected without opposition in 2004. It is unclear at this time if Ms. McGee will stand again as a candidate for Rilato City Clerk.
If Barbara McGee does indeed run again, she now has one less potential challenger to worry about.
