CD 26 UPDATE: Democratic Party Candidate Russ Warner To Address Liberal Website Today
Posted by: SB Insider | 09/05/2007 2:21 PM
Just posted at uber-liberal website Calitics is a posting stating that Democratic congressional candidate Russ Warner will "liveblog" for that site's audience today at 3:30 PM. "Liveblogging" simply means the candidate will both present a written statement and accept direct feedback from Calitics readers in real time on that particular website. The comments from visitors often affords candidates the ability to submit responses and engage in real-time answers to queries posed by interested site members.
Russ Warner is one of two declared Democratic candidates attempting to secure the party's nomination for the 26th Congressional District. Warner's primary opponent is Los Angeles County political activist Hoyt Hilsman. The winner of the June 2008 Congressional Democratic Primary will face 14-term Republican incumbent David Dreier.
According to the notice posted at Calitics, Warner is expected to focus heavily on children's health care during today's Internet chat session.
Both Hilsman and Warner have previously fought for this seat. In June 2006, the two candidates were defeated by perennial Congressional candidate Cynthia Matthews in the Democratic Primary. Matthews would only win to suffer a severe loss to the GOP incumbent last November.
Red County San Bernardino will monitor the Calitics discussion and possibly publish a transcript of the engagement between Russ Warner and Calitics readers.
California's 26th Congressional District includes the San Bernardino County communities of rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Montclair and Wrightwood.
