More Bias in The Daily Lambert

The Daily Lambert reared its ugly head once again, exhibiting the bias we have come to know and love.
The San Bernardino Police Officers Association filed a lawsuit alleging that Chief Billdt violated the rights of officers by denying them access to legal counsel in officer involved shootings. Let us begin with the title of the article: "Suit Against Billdt Tossed"
If you simply read the headline, it makes it sound like the court dismissed a frivolous lawsuit against the Chief, thus setting him up to be a sympathetic figure persecuted by a bunch of crybabies.
The fact is that the suit wasn't tossed; both sides settled the matter.
Even more disturbing is the fact that inside the article, Billdt's attorney takes a pot shot at the SBPOA and insinuates that the SBPOA did not have a leg to stand on.
"I'm glad the case is dismissed and I think the department is too. I think we had a very strong case and we hadn't done anything wrong," attorney Jim Odlum said. "Now the department can focus on doing what a police department is there to do."
The fact of the matter is that Chief Billdt "settled" the case by making concessions as evidenced by the statement by Dieter Dammeier.
Dammeier said the association agreed to have the case dismissed because Billdt promised to implement a protocol where the union president would be called after critical incidents to ensure officers receive proper treatment.
"We think that will help alleviate any concerns we had," he said.
It is unfortunate that The Sun would engage in this sort of journalistic thuggery with the misleading title and it is unfortunate that the attorney for Chief Billdt would try to spin concessions and modification of policy to appease the demands of the SBPOA as a victory.
