Although challengers in the upcoming November election are not formally able to file to run, there are some challengers who are publically annoucing their intentions to run in the upcoming election.  One of them is former San Bernardino City Councilmember Betty Dean Anderson.  Anderson has publically annouced that she will be running against San Bernardino City Councilman Riki Van Johnson who replaced her on the council in back in 2004.  Anderson has yet to pull papers to run in the 6th Ward but says that she wants the public to compare her record on the council with that of Van Johnson.  Anderson served on the San Bernardino City Council for two terms, starting in 1996.  The hotly contested race saw Van Johnson win the seat by a mere 11 votes.  This should prove to be another interesting race to watch.  Stay tuned for updates.
