Play It Again Jose

In what can only be called a disengenous stance, Assembly Public Safety Chair Jose Solorio voted against AB 39 which was carried by Assemblyman John Beniot but at the same time Solorio is a co-author of ACR 24, which is a companion bill. Both the bills are similar in scope; they ask:
"the Governor and the Attorney General of the State of California to institute an action in federal District Court for the Eastern District of California to compel the BJA to reimburse the State of California for all costs of housing undocumented foreign nationals...."
Sounds good but the plot thickens...On May 8, ACR 24 passed out of the Assembly Public Safety Committee on a 7-0 vote with Solorio's support -- Great. But in the same breath Solorio and on the SAME DAY, Solorio tells the Spanish language newspaper La Opinion that trying to get the federal government to reimburse the state for costs involving incarcerated undocumented aliens is futile. Come on Jose, you can't have it both ways. I guess he figures that there are two separate spins, one for the English language papers and another for the Spanish language papers.
Jose, which one is it? Diga me.
