For those of you not at the California Republican Party Convention this weekend - both Major GOP candidates for Governor were on Hand.

In addition - the following story popped up on the AP wire: Arnold: I'll take Gov's Money. Apparently, Arnold has decided to stick his hand out for the 'stimulus' money that other Republican governors are refusing because of the strings attached (you know - no religious buildings / must be green projects / can't check citizenship etc...)

Meg Whitman? She gave an obtuse speech replete with two-way comments and left so many possibilities open that if put into a computer would probably defeat a Russian Chess master. Remember? Meg Whitman came out in the SF Chron and the LA Times praising Pete Wilson's tax increases and saying she wouldn't raise taxes right now. Specifically in the Chronicle she said that she supported taxpayer funded abortions, and spending money on illegal immigrants - then she refused to specify anything she would cut.

Poizner? He was on fire all weekend - while Whitman was getting tepid support and had tons of paid staff on hand with stickers and the like - Poizner brought the fire with him.

Steve Poizner gave the keynote at the dinner tonight and rolled out a new website called NOT ANOTHER DIME... that is the clear contrast we need from everyone else running. Steve demonstrated an intracate knowledge of the accounting tricks and the fake cuts that every budget seems to include.

You take a read of Poizner's speech and tell me which of the three - Arnold, Meg or Poizner is ready to lead? Oh, and while you're at it - if you think Jerry Brown or Diane Feinstein are going to cut spending - oh my...
