Republican Press Conference: State Budget Plan

Watch video of yesterday's press conference from Republicans offering a budget plan that contains no new taxes:



The plan includes:

Education funding at the same level proposed by both the Governor and Senator Perata

No borrowing from local government through either Prop 1A or Proposition 42

Restoration of funding for doctors who provide health care services to the needy under the Medi-Cal program

Elimination of a dangerous early release proposal that would have resulted in thousands of felons set free without being supervised by a parole officer.

Includes a strict spending limit and strong rainy day reserve to help prevent future deficits from hurting Californians.
