RPOF cleans house.

The Republican Party of Florida has shuffled its top staff positions around a little bit, with its main divisions getting some new department heads. According to RPOF's press release this morning:
"Republican Party of Florida Chairman Jim Greer today announced staff changes for the RPOF Political, Finance, Field Operations and Communications Departments. The Chairman appointed Bret Prater, a veteran political operative, to serve as Political Director, promoted Amanda Wheeler to serve as Finance Director and Brad Herold to Deputy Director of Field Operations. Chairman Greer restructured the Communications Department, promoting Katie Gordon to Communications Director, Jennifer McMillan to Deputy Director of Communications and Carla Rivera to Deputy Director of Communications, overseeing Hispanic Media Relations."
There haven't been much of any external rumblings or mumblings suggesting that these people are taking over for people who didn't kiss Greer's ring or anything like that. With the exception of Prater, these new hires are younger RPOF staffers who've cut their teeth in the organization and are taking over for predecessors who have gone into private practice, usually a more lucrative career path in the political campaigning world than state parties. And with 18 months to go until Election Day, an effective state party organization needs to have their top divisions set up with leadership so the rest of the chain of command can get set up efficiently. Best of luck to the new hires, who've come highly recommended from my Florida Republican connections out in Twitterland, such as Jordan Raynor from SayfieReview. They've got a lot of work to do to keep RPOF going strong and get good Republicans elected across the state!
