RivCo Roundup for January

Riverside County Republican Central Committee Has a New Chairman:
Since Dave Everett (where have you been?) did such a good recap, I wont have to go over the central committee board race to much. Conservative Godfather Jon Fleischman was there to run the uncontested race and his comments inspired some frank discussion of where the party is headed in 2009 and beyond. I think the same argument is taking place in living rooms, and on the airways across America - do we stay relevant by straying to "the Middle" or is the reason we lost elections because we got away from fundemental conservatism? The actual election was a walkthrough and no-one flubbed the oath and had to do it over again. It was good to see an election where two RCYR members made it to the executive board and where everyone seemed ready to begin anew behind fresh leadership. Congratulations to our new board.
speaking of Change....and Hope....
B.H.O. was sworn in Tuesday:
In case you missed the media coverage Barack Hussein Obama was sworn in yesterday as the 44th President of these fine United States. (RivCo Voted for him...) And, after eight years of attacks on President Bush for all that ails the earth, Democrats are calling for unity and cooperation. As Americans, most Republicans will respect the office, if not yet the man and not resort to "not my president" and "obama/hitler" T-Shirts. Still, with one pillar of our democracy now hampered with "leg thrills" , and Obama taking on a cult personality, conservatives may be the only ones to prevent King Obama.

RCYR Growing
This months meeting of Riverside County Young Republicans was held, again, at Kilarney's in Riverside. The membership was lucky ennough to have Statewide YR Chairman Ben Lopez in attendence to discuss the expansion of the club. Since Republicans from around the region have been mobilized and are excited to get involved, RCYR is working to accomodate the growth with sub-chapters in Hemet and the Southwest.... and from the southwest; Murrietas shiney new Councilmember Randon Lane headlined the evening with a discussion on his recent victory. He spoke to the group about what it was like to run a "non-partisan" race. The moral of the story is there are no non-partisan races. When you let candidates with liberal policies win at any level, it can come back to bite. I just wish Ditka would have run.
If you are interested in RCYR, join the Facebook group. There you can RSVP for a very Republican Superbowl Party, and watch for future speakers and upcoming fundraisers. As always, regular meetings are the Second Thursday of the month at 7pm @Kilarneys Riverside.
And speaking of Irish Drinkers few Kennedys fill in the bulk of this installation of "6 Degrees of Seperation from B.H.O"
We start with Indonesia:
....Paul Wolfowitz, was the Ambassador to Indonesia and later a critic of President Clintons foreign policy.
....Clintons wife, Hillary, is our new SoS (largely for being Clintons wife)
...dropping out of the "race" today for Clintons open Senate seat is Caroline Kennedy (and apparently getting back in)
...Carolines Uncle Ted Kennedy had a seizure on inaguration day ....
...Teds Nephew Robert wrote . St. Francis of Assisi: A Life of Joy.
...the President who attended St. Francis of Assisi Elementary School in Jakarta, Indonesia....
Barack Obama.
Guess I didnt need all those Kennedys in the middle afterall - its all about Indonesia.
Also coincidentally, while B.H.O. was in Indonesia Ted Kennedy was taking drives along the
