Controversy Over DeLay Remarks At Riverside GOP Annual Dinner

There's some controversy sparked by a post on PolitickerCA.com by James Gerber, in which the blogger relays his conversation his for House Majority Whip Tom DeLay, in which DeLay expressed misgivings about some of McCain's stances.
The Republican Party of Riverside County was quick to respond:
I disagree wth John McCain on McCain-Feingold, global warming, cap-and-trade and Guantanamo, for example -- and I fervently hope he wins and will do everything I can to elect him President.
As DeLay said, Obama is the most left-wing major presidential candidate in American history. If he and a Democratic Congress work effectively together, it is a long leap downward into European-style socialism and stagnation. Supporting Mccain over Obama should be a no-brainer for any conservative with an ounce of sense.
The Republican Party of Riverside County was quick to respond:
Bob Richmond, Chairman of the Riverside County Republican Party, made the following statement in response to a post by James Gerber from PolitickerCA.com: "As someone who was personally very engaged in the Leader's remarks, it is clear to me that Mr. Gerber took Mr. DeLay's remarks out of context." Richmond went on to say that in private conversations, he was encouraged by DeLay's support of Senator McCain and the Republican ticket, saying, "I am excited to see such a distinguished Republican voicing his confidence in John McCain."I think Gerber overplays DeLays' comments to him. I mean, since when is it news that conservatives are at variance with McCain on several issues?

Good day,
I am not sure which entities in your county are affiliated with the racist, insensitive group based in Upland, CA - Chaffey Community Republican Women Federated; but, if you are.... you should immediately ask for the RESIGNATION of Diane Fedele!!!
This horrific 'unintended joke', was in fact maliciously intended! - You know it, I know it, and all citizens of this great state know it. It is no mere coincidence that there was fried chicken, watermelon, pork ribs, and kool-aid (all of which are stereo-typical food staples of the 'black community') surrounding Obama's picture - with his head on a donkey. - To which, my reply is - who really is the 'ass' here???
California is a progressive state and that type if backwards, unenlightened, hateful thinking has no place here, or anywhere!!!
Diane Fedele needs to be fired, otherwise you all are complicit in her actions and way of thinking.
To be a Republican or Democrat is one thing, but it is superseded by being an American first! The shallow-minded, ignorant action displayed by a senior member of your group is deplorable!!!
This form of fear and hate-mongering will not be tolerated. - - - See you on November 4th!
Severely disappointed,
California Citizen
