I posted last week about Brian Nestande winning the endorsement of the president and founder of the National Tax Limitation Committee, Lew Uhler, but several other press releases also came over the transom last week from the Brian Nestande's campaign for the 64th Assembly district:
Nestande Triples Opponents' Fundraising
RIVERSIDE - According to campaign contribution reports released yesterday, Republican Brian Nestande raised more than three times the amount raised by his primary opponent, Kelly McCarty, in the 64th Assembly District contest.
The report released yesterday covered contribution received between January 1 and March 17, 2008.
During that period, McCarty, whose campaign bragged about her fundraising prowess at the beginning of the year, raised only $38,000 from 49 donors during the reporting period. According to the same report, McCarty raised most of her money from donors outside the assembly district where she is a candidate.
During the same time, Nestande raised $125,000 from 104 donors mostly within his Assembly district.
"I'm very pleased with the response I'm getting from friends and neighbors within our district," said Nestande. "Best of all is the fact that the bulk of my fundraising plans include major events scheduled during the next two months. I'm very optimistic that I will be able to meet the budget we have set for our campaign," he concluded.
In addition to leading McCarty in fundraising, Nestande has an insurmountable lead in the number of prominent elected and community leaders who have already endorsed him in his race. Among them are Congresswoman Mary Bono, Congressmen Ed Royce, Jerry Lewis and Darrell Issa; Assemblyman John Benoit, and the mayors and entire Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert City Councils to name a few local elected officials who have endorsed Nestande for Assembly.
