Illegal Immigration Perceived As Major Factor In RivCo Healthcare Costs

This came over last week from fellow Red County poster and longtime GOP consultant/pollster Adam Probolsky. As part of an event called the I-215 South Corridor Economic Summit, Adam did an interesting poll about health care in Riverside County.
The poll illustrates the need for more medical facilities in the county and exposes a relatively high dissatisfaction with the healthcare system, but the most interesting question in my opinion was the question, "Please Tell Me In Your Own Words Why You Believe There Is A Health Care Crisis In California?" Even though the Governor doesn't want to "blame" illegal immigrants for the budget deficit, it is clear that Riverside residents think that it is a significant contributor to the problems facing health care.
Here is how one resident put it, "...too many illegal or uninsured people use emergency rooms for primary care." The executive summary is below:
It seems to be a real who's-who of Riverside GOP electeds with Riverside County Supervisors Jeff Stone and Marion Ashley hosting the event and all of these guys serving as honorary hosts: 44th District Congressman Ken Calvert, 49th District Congressman Darrell Issa, 31st District Senator Bob Dutton, 36th District Senator Dennis Hollingsworth, 37th District Senator Jim Battin, 64th District Assemblyman John Benoit, 65th District Assemblyman Paul Cook and 66th District Assemblyman Kevin Jeffries. Here is the original e-mail with links to all the polling numbers:

I-215 South Corridor Health Care Survey 2008
Executive Summary
ABOUT THE SUMMIT
The Fourth Annual I-215 South Economic Development Summit is a regional stakeholder-driven forum focused on identifying solutions to the challenges facing the vibrant I-215 South Corridor, a 30-mile stretch connecting Riverside in the north to Temecula in the south.
This year's event will be held Sept. 18, at Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula.
This is the fourth year that the producers of the I-215 South Corridor Economic Development Summit have partnered with Probolsky Research LLC to produce a survey of residents who live along the fast growing corridor. In previous years, the Summit has emphasized traffic, education and economic development. With so many changes being proposed to build, expand or sell hospitals along the corridor, hospitals and health care has become a major theme for this year's Summit.

Probolsky Research LLC is pleased to announce the release of new polling numbers for an opinion research study of the I-215 South Corridor in Riverside County.
This is the fourth annual survey Probolsky Research LLC has conducted for the I-215 South Corridor Economic Summit. And this survey marks the first time we have focused largely on the issue of health care which is an emerging issue of concern for residents, industry and government alike.
The I-215 South Corridor includes a 30-mile stretch between Riverside in the north and Temecula in the south and has experienced huge growth in the last decade and continues to thrive. Riverside County is among the fastest growing regions in the country. The economic future of Orange County and the Inland Empire (the I-215 South Corridor specifically) are closely tied.
