Brian Nestande wins the endorsement of PRESIDENT LEW UHLER of the NATIONAL TAX LIMITATION COMMITTEE
Mon Mar 24 2008

Lew Uhler is president and founder of the National Tax Limitation Committee.  Since 1975, their pro-taxpayer and entrepreneurial organization has been hard at work promoting lower taxes and supporting key leaders who share their philosophy.

"During a Republican primary, every candidate claims to be a true Conservative.  In the race for Assembly in the 64th district, Brian Nestande is the only one TRUE Conservative.  He has spent years standing up for California taxpayers in Riverside County and Washington, D.C.  I proudly endorse Brian Nestande for Assembly and urge you to elect him to the Assembly."

Lewis K. Uhler
President, National Tax Limitation Committee

"I am honored to have the endorsement of Lew Uhler and the trust he places in me.  Lew knows that I will go to Sacramento with a decisive agenda to balance the budget by reducing spending and NOT raising taxes," said Brian Nestande.

Brian Nestande signed a NO TAX PLEDGE along with a number of other key conservative lawmakers.  Brian knows that the cause of California's budget deficit is a liberal over spending problem not a revenue problem.  Raising taxes will overly burden small business owners and the hard working middle class.

...This race for the 64th Assembly District seat has been an interesting one to say the least. First it appeared that it was going to be long time Inland Empire GOP activist Angel Sanchez against a relatively unknown, but successful businesswoman Rose Girard. Then Cal Baptist University Professor and stand up COMEDIAN John Pate entered the race with another businesswoman Kelly McCarty, who I frankly don't know much about entering the race right behind Pate. My only interaction with McCarty was a Young Republican forum where she only had a minute or two to speak, but took a hard line against illegal immigration.

As what some would describe as a "border-security-nut," that is always music to my ears.

So you had Sanchez, Girard, Pate and McCarty. For some reason, (to spend more time with her family, I'm sure) Rose Girard dropped out of the race and her political consultant and long-time GOP operative Brian Nestande got in the race. Nestande seems to be picking up many of the establishment endorsements that one might expect Angel Sanchez to pick up, but that may be because Angel Sanchez has suspended his campaign and effectively dropped out of the race.

Two separate blogs about Angel dropping out were written without any denial or confirmation from the campaign.

And lastly, if the recent Red County post below is authentic, it seems that John Pate is also dropping out of the race for the 64th Assembly District and we are down to a two man (person) fight...
