Riverside City Councilman Chris MacArthur has announced his support of Russ Bogh for the California State Senate.   He is also joined by former Riverside Councilman Ed Atkison.

"The people or Riverside County need a leader like Russ Bogh representing them in the State Senate," Councilman MacArthur said.  "Russ Bogh will work hard to keep our neighborhoods and families safe, fix our pressing traffic problems, and hold the state government accountable by controlling unnecessary spending and opposing new taxes."

From 2001 to 2006, businessman and conservative Republican Russ Bogh served the Inland Empire in the Legislature as the representative for the 65th Assembly District.  During his service in the Assembly, Bogh proved himself as a leader on issues important to Riverside County such as public safety, transportation, and limited government.

In addition to his City Council duties, Chris Mac Arthur is a business owner and a citrus farmer.  He was elected to the Riverside City Council in 2007 with over 57% of the vote.  Mac Arthur campaigned on a platform of holding government accountable, reducing traffic, and increasing public safety by having the Riverside Police Department work with federal law enforcement to deport gang members and drug dealers in Riverside.

"I truly appreciate Councilman MacArthur's support," Bogh said.  "Like Chris, I believe that government governs best when it governs least.   My record in the State Assembly shows that I have always fought hard for the people of Riverside County.  Often officials from the City of Riverside called upon me to assist them when they needed help in Sacramento. As a Senator I will bring the same commitment for the interests of my constituents to Sacramento that I did when I was a member of the Assembly."

Bogh is the author of AB 2184 Sponsored by the City of Riverside that allows local governments to regulate group homes, known to house parolees and sex offenders.
