Another Longtime Law Enforcement Leader Endorses Benoit for Senate

The Benoit for Senate campaign continues to attract significant support and is proud to announce the endorsement of Glen Craig, a Retired Commissioner of the California Highway Patrol and longtime Sheriff of Sacramento County.
Glen Craig is a veteran of 44 years in Law Enforcement, having served with four different departments at both the state and local level. In 1956 he joined the California Highway Patrol and progressed through the ranks to become the Commissioner in 1975 until 1983. In 1983, he was appointed Director of the Division of Law Enforcement at the State Department of Justice. He was elected Sheriff of Sacramento County in 1986 where he served three terms and retired in 1999. He has since been working in the private sector on Law Enforcement related issues.
"I've know John since 1981 when he came to work as a young administrative sergeant in the Commissioners' office. He had an outstanding CHP career culminating as Commander in Indio. He has become a great Assemblyman and an extremely effective representative for both public safety and conservative values. He is a man of principle, integrity and blessed with common sense which he has shown repeatedly. We need him in the Senate," said Commissioner Craig.
"I am proud to have the support of Glen Craig, a personal friend, mentor, and one of the highly-respected law enforcement leaders in the state. I have enjoyed putting my law enforcement background to good use in the Assembly, and I look forward to bringing my professional public safety experience to the Senate," responded Benoit.
