Sup. Tavaglione Trying To Fix The Registrar of Voters

John_Tavaglione.jpgMy experience with the Registrar of Voters in Riverside County has not been a pleasant one, but apparently Republican Supervisor John Tavaglione is making an effort to change that.

Here is a an article from the Desert Sun about the Supervisor's efforts and tomorrow, the Riverside County Registrar of Voters will hold an informational session for candidates and committee treasurers needing help with the new online filing.

The session starts at 10 a.m. Thursday at the registrar's office, 2724 Gateway Drive in Riverside. Information: (951) 486-7200

Election filings: County pledges transparency
In the last year, Riverside County's Registrar of Voters had about as much drama as a Florida chad.

But election officials started 2008 off on a brighter note by allowing campaign disclosure forms to be filed online.

The new system was spearheaded by Board of Supervisors Chairman John Tavaglione, who is trying to improve public access.

The system kicked off Wednesday. A friendly reminder to candidates: You have until Jan. 31 to file your latest reports.
