The Benoit for
Senate campaign continues to attract significant, broad-based support throughout
the State of California and is proud to announce the endorsements of Senator Roy Ashburn and Assemblywoman Jean
Fuller."Since his days in my area,
as Bakersfield CHP Lieutenant, John Benoit has been working to keep our
families safe. Now, as Assemblyman, he is a strong conservative fighting
against wasteful government spending and against illegal immigration. I
know he'll do a great job as State Senator," commented Senator Roy
Ashburn.
"John is a leader in the fight against
illegal immigration, new taxes and runaway government spending. And, as a
former school district Superintendent, I appreciate John's School Board
experience when we work together on education problems. He will
be a great State Senator," remarked Assemblywoman Jean Fuller.
"I am fortunate to have this level of support
from my colleagues. It is
significant. These are the people who
work alongside me day-in and day-out," responded Assemblyman Benoit. "That they choose to endorse me is high
praise, indeed."
Prior to his
election to the Assembly, Benoit served 31 years in law enforcement, the last
17 as the Highway Patrol Commander in the Coachella Valley. He also served on the Desert Sands School
Board. Benoit will replace termed out Senator Jim Battin.

Wow, a bunch of Sacramento politicians telling Riverside County voters what to do. Where are Bonnie Garcia and Jim Battin on this race? Which candidate are they supporting?
As desert region legislators Battin and Garcia have probably worked closer with John Benoit than any of these Sacramento politicians. They have to know him better than anyone else in the Capitol. It's a very telling sign that neither of these effective Republican legislators have appeared on Benoit's endorsement list.
Sounds like sour grapes to be commenter....
You left off Jeffries, who as the seven-year chair of the Riverside County Republican Party has more knowledge of this areas reps than anyone. Kevin Jeffries endorsed Benoit.
Russ's camp is talking about retaking his old 65th seat if Prop 93 passes. What a jerk.
Don't worry too much - Prop. 93 ain't passin'
It is already polling at 50-50 and we have not even seen the ads with Fabian nunez ducking through the kitchen with his bodyguard to avoid questions about his campaign spending.
Russ would pull that crap. He stole the seat the first time. Why wouldnt he do it a second time?
