Sen. Jim Battin Running for Lt. Governor?

Riverside County State Senator Jim Battin is raising large amounts of money for a possible run at lieutenant governor in 2010 according to this Thursday's Press-Enterprise Political Notebook.
Battin is a solid conservative and I for one thought he was headed to the Riverside Board of Supervisors (Roy Wilson's seat) after Sacramento, but I guess he is keeping his options open.
In July, the Battin committee got a check for $28,500 from the Riverside County Republican Party.
Battin has filed a statement of intent to run for lieutenant governor in 2010.
This week's Political Notebook was compiled by Jim Miller and Shirin Parsavand.

Battin is better off saving his cash for a county office, the odds are against Republicans in this state. Though if he is going to make a dive for it, I guess there is still a shot since John Garamendi will vacate his office to run for Gov.
