San
Bernardino County will begin tracking greenhouse gas emissions under an
agreement with Attorney General Jerry Brown expected to be approved today by
county supervisors.
Governor

Monday, including a woman with parents from Central America.

OKs challenge to prison crowding suits -- P-E
State
legislators and county prosecutors and sheriffs will get their day in court to

believe could lead to the early release of inmates.
ACLU
report questions value of surveillance cameras; Inland cities say they work

The
ACLU recommends that California cities cease using costly surveillance-camera
programs because they are prone to abuse or misuse and do not significantly
reduce crime.

County officials say they're considering a range of voting systems for the Feb.
5 presidential primary elections, with leased equipment and hand-counted paper
ballots among the options.
Fourth
person arrested in Soboba Casino heist -- P-E
A
fourth person wanted in connection with the $1.58 million Soboba Casino heist
on Aug. 2 -- which authorities say may be the largest robbery in Riverside
County history -- surrendered to sheriff's detectives late Friday afternoon and
will appear in court today.

upgrades greet San Jacinto, Menifee students -- P-E
At
the Menifee campus, construction of an $11 million two-story technology center
is almost complete.
Old
growth problems continue to haunt Old Town Temecula -- The Californian
While
Temecula now has 98,000 residents, the issue of "how to grow"

to help steer the city 41 years ago, the Temecula of today has hired outside
help to create a road map of the future.

Unfortunately,
case backlog in criminal courts is not unusual. It's happening all over the
country and has for years, but that is no excuse for putting off civil cases or
potentially jeopardizing defendants' legal rights.
