BEAUMONT, CA --- The Russ Bogh for Senate campaign announced
today the endorsement of the state’s largest firefighting organization CDF
Firefighters.
“When Californians need help they call firefighters, when
firefighters need help, they call Russ Bogh” said Bob Wolf President of CDF
Firefighters. “While in the Legislature Russ Bogh was a tireless advocate
for firefighters, he fought to ensure that California Firefighters had the tools
they needed to protect Riverside County from devastating fires, we trust him and
urge Riverside County residents to join us and send him to the Senate”
Assemblyman Russ Bogh is the only legislator in the history
of CDF to be named Legislator of the Year twice by CDF Firefighters. He was the
author of the measure to rename CDF to Cal-Fire and used his influence in the
legislature to ensure the firefighters had the tools they need to protect the
public. While in the legislature he authored a number of pieces of legislation
to help firefighters, authored a bill to create an arson registry for the
public, helped ensure that firefighters killed or injured in the line of duty
receive adequate compensation and proper medical care. He ensured that
Riverside County had adequate fire resources and worked the Schwarzenegger
Administration to keep the Hemet Ryan Air Attack Base in Hemet.
“Riverside County is prone to dangerous wildfires,” Bogh
said. “Time and time again the residents of this county have turned to the men
and women of Cal-Fire to risk their lives and protect the public. Having the
support of those same firefighters is a great honor.”
CDF Firefighters joins the growing list of supporters
of Bogh’s Senate bid. The list includes Former Governor Pete Wilson,
Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia, Riverside County Supervisor Marion
Ashley, District Attorney Rod Pacheco, Republican Caucus Chairman,
Assemblyman Bob Huff, Beaumont Mayor Jeff Fox, Hemet Mayor Marc Searl,
Perris Mayor Darryl Busch, Norco Mayor Harvey Sullivan, Hemet Councilman
Eric McBride and San Jacinto Mayor Jim Ayres, San
Jacinto Councilmembers John Mansperger and Dale Stubblefield Morneo
Valley Councilmember Bill Batey. In addition to the California
Association of Highway Patrolmen, the Corona Taxpayers Association, the
California Fire Chiefs Association and the Associated Builders and
Contractors.
Super, another UNION!
