Aaron Continues His Non Stop Self Promotion!

Community leaders all over Snohomish County were astounded again this last week when Aaron Reardon continued his quest for the gubernatorial nomination while a record 67,000 SNO County residents are out of work and more than 6,000 families wait for their homes to be foreclosed!

Ridiculous item number one: “County gathers medical community to transform health care” was the bogus theme for a meeting of a number of quasi government, government types and some private healthcare officials to put on a show for Aaron Reardon. 

The underlined headline above drew howls of laughter from at least one Seattle Times Newspaper reporter who said, “He seems to be a little over his head and authority here!” Referring to the fact that Reardon is merely a county executive of a fairly small county on the west coast.

I had an observer go to this meeting and his remark was, “No healthcare was transformed! In fact I thought it was a rather embarrassing low level healthcare show, with Reardon giving a useless and bombastic speech signifying nothing of any significance!”

Ridiculous item number two: Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon said Thursday he welcomed Gov. Chris Gregoire’s efforts to fund additional aerospace training opportunities. Governor Christine Quagmire showed up and touted some sort of very expensive aerospace training that was supposed to go on in Everett and Spokane, towing her fair haired Aaron Reardon around by the nose. 

When I-1033’s Tim Eyman cornered the Governor and asked her if she would be willing to debate I-1033 she had this to say according to his blog on Sound Politics: “"Gawwwwwd no" she said. Eyman sincerely asked "Why not?" She responded, "I don't want it (the debate) to be personal." Exasperated, Tim answered "Well, it doesn't have to be, we can just debate the issues on I-1033." Her response: "No we wouldn't." Eyman answered "That's unfortunate."

In the end Aaron was just a fixture at this event but he did crow this out as Quagmire left the building, “We’re creating new and needed opportunities for our aerospace workers to keep their skill sets well ahead of our competition,” Reardon said. “This helps our leading businesses such as Boeing remain competitive in today’s global economy.” Wow, can this guy toot his own horn!

Odd that he would say that when HE KNOWS that Boeing is leaving SNO County and ain’t comin’ back! On top of that several thousand Boeing workers in Everett wait for their pink slips as part of the 5,000 jobs Boeing has eliminated locally and sent elsewhere.

I asked a veteran SNO County political observer about this situation:

ME: “What in the world is this guy thinking?”

HIM: “Well, I think that some of this nonsense can be blamed on Aaron Reardon’s staff down on Rockefeller. They have visions of Governor Mansion ‘sugar plums’ dancing around in their heads, and they will do anything to promote their ‘cutie pie’ boss!

ME: “Please, right now the Snohomish economy is the worst this side of the mountains. Aaron is presiding over it. Surely, they know that!”

HIM: “They are trying to hide from it and will work to distance their boy from being tagged with the problem, that’s politics 101b! I frankly think he is making a big mistake. He should be all over the front page of the Everett Herald trying to help the unemployed. I think the reason he isn’t is that one of the things he does best is stick to Washington State Democratic Party POLICY. They don’t call him a ‘policy w**** for nothing. Right now that policy is to ignore the unemployment in the state.

ME: “Hard to ignore 580,000 unemployed in this state!

HIM: “No kidding!"
