UC Irvine Still Enforcing Sharia Law
Administrators are either clueless about radical Islam's foothold on campus or determined to create an environment in which it can thrive. Take your pick.
May 22, 2008
The University of California-Irvine is a sprawling campus in Orange County. The institution, located between the Santa Ana Mountains and the shore of the Pacific Ocean, is not only home to some of the best minds in science and engineering, but also to some of the most virulent supporters of radical Islam in America -- and a school administration bent on capitulating to them.
The university's Muslim Student Union (MSU) holds several annual events, at which members unashamedly voice support for terrorist groups and denounce Israel, America, and the Western world. Past events hosted during the group's annual anti-Israel week have had titles such as "Hamas: the People's Choice" and "Israel: The 4th Reich." Speakers have included Norman Finkelstein, Ward Churchill, and Anna Balzter.
This year, from May 7-15, the MSU hosted a series of programs entitled "Never Again? The Palestinian Holocaust." As they have done in the past, the MSU appropriated ideas of genocide in order to promote their radical ideology.
The featured speaker last Thursday, May 15, was Amir Abdel Malik-Ali, a radical imam from Oakland who is all too familiar to UCI students. Malik-Ali frequently engages in anti-Western rhetoric and is a vocal supporter of terrorist groups. Not only has he praised Hamas, Hezbollah, and the mujahadeen in Afghanistan as "Islamic resistance" movements struggling against Western "oppressors," he has called any scrutiny of these terror groups mere "propaganda." Following Ali's speeches to UCI's MSU, the audiences of keffiyah-wearing Muslim students always repetitively recite the battle cry "Takbir! Allahu Akbar!" This year's audience was no different.
While his rhetoric is lurid and apocalyptic, Malik-Ali's speech is protected under the First Amendment. What's alarming is the administration's willingness to enforce the MSU's prerogatives on other students who attend their events -- hence the application of Sharia law where the Bill of Rights is applicable. For example, while videotaping Malik-Ali's speech, we were confronted by a school administrator. Dean of Student Services Sally Peterson told us that, on behalf of the male students, we would have to stop filming the female activists, or as she called them "the sisters." Aware of our rights, we refused her orders and continued covering the event.

Excellent post.
From what I understand, Cicerone was a complete empty suit, but what else is new?
Let's call it what it is: The msu is acting like they are a 5th column, and I seriously question their allegiance to this country. If any of you msu folks are reading this, I would love to hear you tell me I am wrong. Tell me you love America. Let's set Hizbollah and Hamas aside. Tell me you hate Al-Qaida and would defend America from these killers. I am waiting. I am holding my breath.
Ummm, how is this "enforcing Sharia Law." A much more appropriate title would be "enforcing the First Amendment." College is for saying ridiculously stupid things (like many of the MSU speakers do and Constantine normally does). Every major organization, government body, and legal scholar who has looked at this issue has said that UCI administrators are doing exactly what they are required by law to do. Rather than continuously bashing the administration due to your own lack of understanding of the constitution, why not try to organize events that brings students together in a place where they can discuss issues in a safe environment. BTW, that means no one like Ann Coulter or Dershowitz (or Malik-Ali) speaks.
Todd the lawyer who defends the terrorist group CAIR should not be critisizing anyone. He is a traitor to the U.S., just like CAIR and the MSU.
Constantine,
Do you ever question yourself for the hate that you inspire? Look at the two posts above. This is your audience. How does that feel?

Yeah, what HE said! Especially the piglet two posts above Toddy's post who defends Islamofascists and thinks that Sharia Law is in the US Constitution! What a loon he is!
Judaism is a mental disorder.
Repeating the same inane and untrue things over and over again, using different screen-names due to inability to face reality is also a mental disorder. I'm going to my "Doctor" tonight, how about you?
Good Shabbas, pedophile!
Unanswered questions:
I am still waiting for the following questions I have posed:
1- To the MSU: I asked you to condemn Al-Qaida and say if you are loyal to America.
2- Has anyone heard from Rusty Kennedy, executive director of the Orange County Human Relations Commission regarding the alleged incident at UCI last Thursday night? I have not. Have you?
Don't hold your breath. he's probably golfing with Gomez this weekend.
To B.
Like I said-Keep those cards and letters coming-to Rusty, that is.
By the way,
I never got a response from Daniel Tedford (Daily Pilot) to my email. But considering his split-down-the-middle article on UCI, what should I have expected from the news media?
I really must stop writing to to all the wrong people.
Update:
To this date, has anyone at UCI (teachers, professors, deans, administration)come out and publicly condemned the anti-Semitic caricature of Ariel Sharon on the MSU wall (that they permitted)?
The answer is an emphatic no!
Has Rusty (Empty Suit) Kennedy, the Director of OC Human Relations Commission, condemned it?
No. In his nasty response to my letter (which brought it to his attention), he ignored the issue.
Just a friendly reminder in the wake of the bombing attack at the Danish Embassy in Pakistan: Don't forget to buy Danish and support our friends in Denmark who are standing up to Islamic intimidation.
