Dem. Representative Condemns UCI Anti-Semitism

Via the Cutting Edge News, Representative Brad Sherman (D) urges Chancellor Drake to condemn the anti-semitic hate speech by the Muslim Student Union at UC Irvine. Sherman - to his credit - recognizes the blood libel that comes with vilifying Israel, and discusses the danger of the spreading and appeasement of hateful ideas that target Jewish life in the Middle East and Western world:
Hate on Campus
A California Campus Event Intended to Encourage Violence and Spread Hate
May 26th 2008
Rep. Brad Sherman
House of Representatives
In mid-May, I wrote a letter to Chancellor Michael Drake expressing my concern with the University of California at Irvine's (UCI) Muslim Student Union's campus event entitled "Never Again? The Palestinian Holocaust," which was held on the campus from May 7th to May 15th. This event appears to have intended to encourage violence against the State of Israel and propagate the spread of anti-Semitism.
The title of the event itself is particularly inflammatory. Comparing current Israeli policies to the Holocaust, the systematic murder of the Jewish people of Europe, is clearly anti-Semitic. It wholly demeans the Jewish victims of the Holocaust and vilifies the Jewish citizens of Israel. The United States Department of State has officially declared that such a comparison is a prototypical example of anti-Semitism. In a recent report to Congress, the State Department adopted the following definition of anti-Semitism:
"Anti-Semitism is a certain perception of Jews, which may be expressed as hatred toward Jews. Rhetorical and physical manifestations of anti-Semitism are directed toward Jewish or non-Jewish individuals and/or their property, toward Jewish community institutions and religious facilities. Such manifestations of anti-Semitism could also target the state of Israel, conceived as a Jewish collectivity . . . . Contemporary examples of anti-Semitism in public life, the media, schools, the workplace, and in the religious sphere could, taking into account the overall context, include, but are not limited to: Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis." [emphasis supplied] (Contemporary Global Anti-Semitism Report, Released by the Office of the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism, U.S. Department of State, March 2008).
The titles of some of the lectures at the event -- "Death to Apartheid: A Farewell to Zionism" and "Silence is Consent: Stop the Palestinian Holocaust" -- are also disturbing. And, the guests invited to give these lectures have a record of making anti-Semitic statements. As is observable on YouTube, one of the lecturers, Amir Abdel Malik Ali, stated in a speech at UCI in May 2006, "The truth of the matter is: [Israel's] days are numbered. We will fight you until we are either martyred or until we are victorious." It should be of concern that a speech given at UCI calls for "martyrdom" - the euphemism for suicide bombing.
I grew up near UCI and I have even taken a course there. I recognize that it is an excellent educational institution with a history of intelligent, vigorous debate. While I strongly support the First Amendment rights of individuals to speak freely and without impediment at the UCI campus, I hope that readers share my belief that we all have a moral responsibility to denounce speech that is clearly and unambiguously hateful in nature.
As the leader of a public university, Chancellor Drake also has a duty to condemn anti-Semitism, especially when it occurs at the UCI campus. In my letter to the Chancellor, I asked him to publicly denounce this hate speech. I hope he does so.
Rep. Brad Sherman (D-California) represents California's 27th District in the San Fernando Valley.

Excellent! Thank you Congressman Sherman. I agree with your statement.
Sincerely,

I also add my thanks to Congressman Sherman for speaking out.

Wow.
A Zionazi Jewish Congressman being offended by the truth about Israel. Who would have thought it could happen?
I can see the freedom of speech is not an ideal highly valued by Jews or their useful idiots like Gary Fouse or Chuck Devore.
Judaism is a mental disorder.
Cheers
At least these "useful idiots" have the courage of their convictions to sign their names to what they write. Unlike most of the people who represent the other side.
"King David the Pedophile said:
Wow."
Are you sure you are not confusing yourself with the Pedophile Pirate Muhammad? It is little wonder Muhammad's contemporaries called him "mad," "insane," and "demon possessed." It is little wonder Islamic clerics try so hard to hide this stuff from the world. It is why Muhammad assassinated a score of poets, the journalists of their day, who had the courage to expose him. It is why Muslim rulers issue fatwas today.
Not Really.
The Jewish King David was a pedophile. The Jews own texts affirm my claim. Take a look:
"Now King David was old, advanced in age; and they covered him with clothes, but he could not keep warm.
So his servants said to him, "Let them seek a young virgin for my lord the king, and let her attend the king and become his nurse; and let her lie in your bosom, that my lord the king may keep warm."
So they searched for a beautiful girl throughout all the territory of Israel, and found Abishag the (A)Shunammite, and brought her to the king.
The girl was very beautiful; and she became the king's nurse and served him, but the king did not cohabit with her."
- 1 Kings 1:1 - 1:4
An old man using a young virgin girl as a "bed warmer" is the classic sign of a pedo.
Judaism is a mental disorder.
Anti-Zonism is not anti-Semitism.
Recognizing that the current government of Israel is Zionist and not accepting it is no more evil than protesting our current US Administration. This does not mean that we hate America, nor does it mean that we are against Jews or against the concept of Israel.
Sherman is totally wrong, and the constant cover-up by our Administration, and our press of anything smacking of protest against how fully the Zionists have infiltrated our government, is inherently evil. Campus watch should be removed from our campuses.
The Muslim groups should be able to tell it like it is without warranting attention or given punishment or stopped from speaking out.
Muslim groups are fine, but not when they engage in support for terrorism like MSU members. I wonder how many MSU members will cross the line from supporting terrorism, to actually engaging in it. Throwing bricks at an FBI agent is a sign that they deviants are trouble not just for Israel, but for the United States. At the very least that balding violent MSU loser who tried to murder the police officer should be deported.
I have never met an anti-Zionist who didn't hate Jews and didn't support terrorism... I would love for you to show me one. Just please don't bring up one of those self-loathing traitors with Jewish backgrounds, because that doesn't count.
The Muslim groups shouldn't even get the funding they get because they have demonstrated that they are not a cultural/religious group by their Israel/Jew bashing. They are a bigoted political activist group and should just be happy with the donations they get from the terrorist cells that they call mosques.
Islam is a death cult. Let us help them achieve their goal of loving 72 virgins.

Wow! It's like you comepletely missed all the previous posts on this website! Try this one: http://www.redcounty.com/rccampuswatch/2008/05/exclusive-video-student-threat/
There's others (try the "back" arrow on your Explorer, but this should give you an idea of just how free and open these soirees really are. They also seem to be pretty unencumbered by punishment, negative attention, or being stopped from speaking out. In fact, the only ones who seem to have any problems with this is counter-protestors of these "poor Muslims" that you seem to be bedazzled by. But, then again, ignorance is bliss, and you seem to be pretty blissful. This is what happens when you advocate censorship as you are advocating for "Campus Watch". Just like any good Nazi or Islamofascist....BTW, how's that Burkah fitting for you? Maybe you, too, can be like Saint Rachel Corrie the Pancake! Go for it, please!

Funny, these two above statements don't jive, do they? Thank you for describing your behaviors so well, though! BTW, pedophile, have you taken your pillies today? Answered any of my questions about "Holohoaxes", etc.? Taken my Word-association test?
No? You poor, demented loser, you...
Anti-semitisim is a mental disorder and so is defending savages like the Muslim terrorists who murder women and children at will.
For those who hate Israel and the Jews please boycott all things created by Israel and the Jews. Start by throwing away your computer, cellphones, etc., etc. You couldn't live without all the Israeli/Jewish innovations. You could try but then you'll have to live in a cave.
www.Israel21c.com
yea... That seems like what Muslims want to do.... the problem is that they want force everyone else into living in caves as well
>
Hmmm... So you are saying that you would argue with and oppose the likes of MLK, Jr.?
Dr. King said in his 1968 Harvard University appearance, “When people criticize Zionists they mean Jews, you are talking anti-Semitism.”
Interesting...
Previous post in response to Carol Bradford who said:
"Anti-Zonism is not anti-Semitism."
some progressive up there in the comments offered some demand to have her brand of intricately-parsed anti-semitism disaggregated from the "bad kind". but it's clear to any grown-up that she only wants her cause disaggregated from badness.
she's asking, "can we call in a solid here and not oppose anti-semitism while the left is pushing it? we can nazi-bait opponents into silence better than you.
and she, the poster above, followed a member of jewwatch.org in here after all, so...
Anti-semitism and anti-zionism are not the same thing, but it should go without saying that they are both equally evil.
Yes, they have different definitions; but In order to be anti-Zionist, you must be an anti-Semite first.
King David the Pedophile is in reality my patient and is on antipsychotic medication. Ignore him.
-- King David the Pedophile's Jewish physician.
An anti-Semite used to be someone who hated Jews. Now, it's someone whom Jews hate. Crying "anti-Semite!" is the contemporary equivalent of The Boy Who Cried Wolf. From craven and hysterical overuse - it's now a greater stigma to be called a "sunday driver!" than an "anti-Semite!". Anyone who tells the truth about Apartheid Israel is called an "anti-Semite!". Israel is the pariah State of the world for good reason. All the hasbara PR campaigns in the world can not conceal the fact that Israel is persecuting the Palestinians in Nazi-like fashion. "Anti-Semites" like Tony Blair, Condi Rice, Colin Powell, Barack Obama,Human Rights Watch, B'teselem, Amnesty International, President Carter, Sir Harold Pinter, Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela, etc., etc. all agree. Congresman Sherman is nothing more than a zionist liar.
David: you're sick. Or stupid. Or both. And you can't spell.
David, you're a "knowledgable" individual, it seems. I have some questions for you, if I may.
1.) How would you characterize a website like JewWatch.com?
2.) Why do you think that a majority of UN condemnations are against Israel, and practically none against the likes of China (for their occupation of Tibet), Syria, (for their repression and destruction of the city of Hama in 1982, among other things), or Saudi Arabia for their repression of non-Islamic religions in their country?
3.) Why do you think Barack Obama deserves to be considered an Anti-Semite? Is this because of his unconditional support of Hamas? Or do you know something that hasn't been revealed yet about B. HUSSEIN Obama, like his secret Muslim status?
Accusing Israel of being an apartheid state is a terrible lie and most certainly inspired by anti-Semitism. Arabs in Israel have equal rights so long as they aren't terrorist criminals. The Arabs are the actual the segregationists. For instance, Jews are not allowed to own land in the surrounding Arab states, but Arabs ARE allowed to own land in Israel. To go even further, most everything said about the Jews in so much as they are persecutors is a lie... they even had a blood-libel sketch on the Arab television stations showing a group of men dressed as Hassidic Jewish characters slitting the throat of a young Christian boy for one of their rituals.
The sickest part of this is that the same Arab states that discriminate against Jews are part of a collective effort to cause and maintain the suffering of Palestinian Arabs so that they may have more to blame the Jews on. That is the only explanation as to why nations such as Jordan and Egypt seal Palestinian Arabs out. Groups like Hamas and Hezbolla actually hurt their own kinsmen for this purpose, then at the same time, brainwash them into blowing themselves up in order to kill innocent Jewish civilians. This is all done merely in the name of anti-Zionism?
And let me note that Muslims' use of the word apartheid as something they are victims of is comical. Im not sure if any of the Muslims reading this are aware, but from the time of the 'Rightly Guided Califs'(nothing more than a ruling caste of warrior thugs who constantly fought with each other) to today there has been the institution of Dhimmitude in the Islamic world. Dhimmis were members of the oppressed Christian and Jewish communities who had to pay all of the taxes of the Islamic empires and whose freedoms were greatly restricted; In the case of Turkey, infants were taken from their Christian parents--never to be seen by them again--to serve as the Sultan's guard. Dhimmitude is only one of the reasons why other religious traditions shrunk if not disappeared under the Islamic thumb. I would just like you to remember that next time you utter the word apartheid in reference to the Israeli state.
now if he only defended the USA and Americans with some vigor, not to mention the physical assaults and intimidation that Muslims at UCI and other colleges perpetrate on non-Muslims
hate crimes, hate speech, incitement to violence, and assault are crimes - when are some of these terrorist supporters going to be arrested?

Sounds a lot like Muslims, CAIR, and other Islamic radicals screaming about Xenophobia all the time.
I wear every attack against me that claims I am Xenophobic, Islamophobic, or anti-Islam, as badges of honor. These attacks verify I have poked another hole in bubble Islam hides in.
Tell me David, how many of the Zionist, defenders and supporters of US policy go on rampages. Burn property. Stalk people in the parking lots. Disrupt presentations they don't like. How many 100's of links to news stories of the closed mindedness of groups like the MSU will it take to give you a hint you and they are wrong?

That's right, Miss. If you don't like it, remove it from the campus. That comment speaks volumes.
Time to cull the herd.
These jihadist fascists need to be deported.
Free speech is one thing
Hate speech & Hate action quite another.
These are terrorists plain and simple
The worst part is that they either teach or believe propaganda and distorted history, that simply isn't true.
Hate comes from ignorance of the truth.
And these guys are haters.
They aren't even 'useful tools'
I hope the FBI learns who the ring leaders are and I hope each of them get a cell next to their posterboi Sami --all thugs in a row LOL

IN REPLY : Sir.. do you let a diagnosed cancer continue to grow, or do you excise it?
Campus watch was created to expose what Miss Bradford would prefer to remain hidden from the general public.
I say let the MSA talk and talk loudly. Americans need to hear them.
The MSA is today's equivalent of yesterday's KKK or Nazis.
Mr Bigg,
You didn't really specify what the cancer is-is it the anti-Semitic remarks of the MSU speakers, which we consider inciteful or is it our comments which challenge the msu and their speakers?
At last a senior politician has found the courage to condemn the Islamofascist Muslim Student Union at UCI!
This filthy club of racist, fascist Muslims is a stain on the American educational system. All similar Nazi-like groups should be exposed to public scorn and their bigoted leaders expelled from their campuses.
Robust measures are needed to prevent these scumbags infecting other young Americans with their evil supremacist ideology.
I notice that Cong. Sherman's letter is getting a lot of dissemination on the blogs. Good job.
