Amir Abdel Malik Ali: "Barack Obama would be a figurehead for this Corrupt, Brutal, and Immoral Empire"

Posted by: Jonathan Constantine | 02/23/2008 2:02 PM

This one's for you Chris Prevatt, Claudio Gallegos, and Gustavo Arellano:

I don't mean to say this facetiously, but I know you've all been critical of my MSU reporting (I must say you all have been spirited and fair). But as the video below shows, we are all in the same boat against militant jihadism. In his speech at UCI last Thursday, frequent MSU guest speaker Amir Abdel Malik Ali stated that the United States was a "corrupt, brutal, and immoral empire," and in so many words he feared Barack Obama the most. In fact, he states that he would prefer a wolf like George Bush who woke up the Islamic world in resistance, to a fox like Barack Obama who would wage war on Muslims and take away their land by killing them with kindness. He also states that Obama would hurt African Americans (who according to Ali are revered throughout the world for their resistance against the United States), by becoming a figurehead for this "corrupt, brutal, and immoral empire." Tell that to our African-American servicemen.

The next part is on how morality and militancy are not mutual exclusive.

Note: According to Ali, anti-affirmative action efforts were lead by Zionists. (Questions for Ali or the MSU: How? And are these Zionists Jews or non-Jews?)

As you see in the next video, I posed the question for Ali (to paraphrase myself): Since you believe that militancy and morality are not mutually exclusive, how should we as UCI students interpret Malcom X when he said "by any means necessary?"

His answer (to paraphrase): He meant the ballot or the bullet. Malcom X didn't believe that being peaceful was a principle, it's a tactic we should rotate with violence. See the video for yourself:

In past lectures Malik Ali has referred to other Black Americans serving this country in similar terms.

When discussing Condoleezza Rice he repeatedly called her 'Condosleaza.'

Any minority who serves this country, Democrat or Republican, is evil in the eyes of radical Islamists.

Radical Islamism doesn't distinguish between political factions. Even Muslims are victims of the harmful ideology that our world has become plagued with. We've seen countless women and gays being prosecuted for so-called "crimes" in the Arab world and children being indoctrinated in a manner that forces them to embrace death.

Thanks for taking the time to capture this footage.

Malik Ali denigrates Blacks like Rice and Obama who are working through the system, but Ali and his cohorts have done nothing to advance integration and reconciliation in this country, basically because they hate the country itself. The Civil Rights Movement itself was testiment to the fact that when Americans realize that something is unjust, it can be corrected within the system without a violent revolution-as in many other countries. The fact that America's next president may be an African-American is no thanks to people like Ali-Maybe that is why he disparages Obama.

Malik Ali uses Malcolm X as his shining example. In truth, Malcolm contibuted nothing to integration in America. Another aspect of Malcolm that Ali conveniently ignores is that Malcolm was murdered-not by white racists-but by members of the Nation of Islam itself when Malcolm broke with Elijah Mohammed. Suspicion still hangs over Louis Farrakhan for having played a role at least on the periphery of that murder, a belief that Betty Shabazz, Malcolm's widow, herself shared.

I also find it strange that Malik Ali speaks of the "self defense" concept that Malcolm advocated. According to Malcolm (and Ali) violence is all about self-defense. Yet, he denies that self-defense to Israelis trying to stop rocket attacks and suicide bombings launched by Hizbollah and Hamas against innocent Israeli civilians. They don't even have a right to buid a wall to keep terrorists out-even if it has drastically reduced suicide bombings.

What about the right of self-defense for innocent Israeli civilians, Mr Ali?

It seems that MEMRI has found comments from radicals that they intend to whip up race tensions. Could be Ali is helping that along with his comments. http://www.memri.org/bin/latestnews.cgi?ID=SD185308
