Pullman / Moscow Tea Party II: T-Minus 4 Days And Counting!

So, today was day one of our local media blitz leading up to the second Moscow / Pullman Tea Party, scheduled for SATURDAY JUNE 27th AT 4:00 PM in PULLMAN'S PINE STREET PLAZA. (On main, downtown.)

OK, so that was a shameless plug. I admit it. In fact, here's another admission, this entire post is. What can I tell you, when it comes to projects near and dear to my heart, I am a shameless promoter.

Here on the Palouse, we have been going through some frustrations in our local 9-12 group. Never mind that Republicans have HISTORICALLY been the party of "let the other guy do it" when it comes to activism. Yes, you read that right, "Conservative Activist" makes about as much sense as "Liberal Fiscal Conservative." You might find one every now and then, but they're a lot like winning lottery tickets. One in a billion. So, take that fact and combine it with a typical busy summer on the Palouse, shuttling kids around to various sports and activities, mowing the lawn and trying to eek out just a bit of recreation and the equation ends up with a handful of individuals carrying the water, individuals who get frustrated because it feels like if we didn't forego our own family and recreation time, that stuff just wouldn't get done. And that's probably an accurate assessment.

Conservatives need a serious paradigm shift, otherwise you all had best just give up now, turn in your guns, money and religion and prepare for the new world order. Of course, that's written tongue-in-cheek, but there is some truth to it. Even now, I am personally working on a campaign for city council as well as two local issue petitions, and if I can mobilize people and get significant turnout to county meetings, then my crusades will be a slam dunk. If I can't mobilize people to show up, then I will not succeed. It's as simple as that.

Conservatives, you must be willing to hear the call for letter writing and phone calls, and personal appearances! Yes, it's going to be an inconvenience for you (insert dripping sarcasm HERE), and yes, you may just miss "Dancing With The Stars" or some other crappy television program, but suck it up and deal with it! If you want a say, then quite frankly you need to show up. And let me tell you this, if the issue is even mildly controversial, and your "opponent" just happens to be liberal, THEY WILL BE THERE. You have no excuses. Embrace technology, they will. Embrace activism, they will. Start taking marching orders from those willing to put their own lives on hold to fight for the causes you supposedly believe in, BECAUSE THEY WILL!

Which brings me back to Tea Party II (Remember, the one scheduled for SATURDAY JUNE 27th AT 4:00 PM in PULLMAN'S PINE STREET PLAZA - On main, downtown?) If you take the time to read this blog and others, listen to talk radio and believe in what are supposed to be basic, conservative core values, then you need to be there. Each one of these events is a building process, and we need to see you there, and in force. So, if you were planning some fun activities that afternoon, postpone. Come out and rally for those things you believe in. Stand up for something really important and help us send a message to anyone willing to listen.

I taped the speech I made at the April 15 rally, and between You Tube and audio downloads, including the two national radio appearances I have made supporting that recording, I know that THOUSANDS of people have heard my message. I realize it's easy to feel overwhelmed and insignificant, especially when residing in smaller towns like Pullman and Moscow, or the smaller outlying areas. But seriously, it all adds up. Your presence is significant. Bring a friend, bring yourself, let your voice be heard... a revolution is brewing.
