As predicted ... Obama lacks victory strategy in Afghanistan

I told you so! Submitted for your comparison, my 2008 prediction and today's Fox News report....
MY 2008 PREDICTION Source: http://bit.ly/Wf6ZI
If Barack Obama is elected president, we'll have a second Jimmy Carter term. Barack Obama would be very weak on national security, and that is not acceptable - especially in a time of war.
Jim McDermott's fierce opposition to a victory strategy in the war against terrorism is shared by the other key leaders of the Democratic Party.... This is also the policy goal of Barack Obama and Ted Kennedy, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, Al Gore and John Kerry.
The Democrats lack a victory strategy for the war against terrorism. They don't realize what victory means: stabilizing the governments of Iraq and Afghanistan as part of encouraging and assisting a transformation of the Middle East; disruption and destruction of terrorist networks; ending the war drive of the Iranian mullahs (with their threats against Israel); and ending the nuclear weapons programs of North Korea and Iran.
OBAMA: "VICTORY" NOT NECESSARILY GOAL IN AFGHANISTAN (FOX NEWS REPORT, JULY 24, 2009) Source: http://bit.ly/19otHW
President Obama has put securing Afghanistan near the top of his foreign policy agenda, but "victory" in the war-torn country isn't necessarily the United States' goal, he said Thursday in a TV interview. "I'm always worried about using the word 'victory,' because, you know, it invokes this notion of Emperor Hirohito coming down and signing a surrender to MacArthur," Obama told ABC News....
The leaders of the largest contributors to the coalition find themselves having to justify both their reasons for deploying troops and their management of the war effort. Britain, Italy and Australia are among those adding forces ahead of Afghanistan's Aug. 20 presidential election. They say a Western pullout at this time would enable a resurgent Taliban to take over the country and give Al Qaeda more space to plan terror attacks against the West. Some emphasize humanitarian aspects of their missions, like development aid and civilian reconstruction.
