Iowa Family Policy Center's Banquet with Governor Bobby Jindal
By Iowans Rock | 11/18/08 | 09:41 AM EDT | 0 Comments
The Iowa Family Policy Center is a worthy organization to support. It is a non-profit organization dedicated to equipping, empowering and encouraging Iowans to build communities where families are valued and strengthened. This mission of the IFPC is of the utmost importance because the strength of our state and nation lies in the strength of our families. When the family structure breaks down and can no longer take care of themselves our government needs to step in and correct these social messes. The government then becomes bigger and more expensive and no long oversees our lives, but instead invades our lives and tries to "take care" of us. The family was meant to govern themselves. The issues that the IFPC supports (marriage, sanctity of life, and education) are the bedrock issues of a strong society.
How can you support this worthy organization and also get to meet a rising star of the Republican party? Attend IFPC Action's Celebrating the Family Banquet this coming Saturday at the Sheraton Grand Ballroom in West Des Moines. The keynote speaker will be Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal who at a mere 37-years-old has resurrected his state from the post Hurricane Katrina catastrophe. Former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, has called him "the most transformational young governor in America today". The Banquet begins at 5:30 pm this Saturday and tickets are $50 with sponsorship opportunities available. I attended their July banquet with former governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee as the keynote speaker and it was wonderful (the food was great too)! So if you believe in the social issues, put your money where your mouth is and attend this event that supports one of the most important components of our society today: strong families. Visit the Iowa Family Policy Center website for more information on the banquet.
