September 22, 2009 | 12:27 PM
Should the United States conduct a "surge of troops" into Afghanistan? That is the question Rich discusses in today's Port-in-a-Storm podcast. President Obama ironically faces the same challenges as his predecessor - an American public that is against a surge, a Democratic Congress and Party that are opposed to continuing the war and a corrupt government with a growing insurgency. What will President Obama do? Will he stand by his position that Afghanistan is "a war worth fighting" or will he cave to public opinion and political pressure? Will be see a surge in Afghanistan?
