Will WPUSD continue to push their $222 million tax??

Last week, as Western Placer Unified School District was surveying the district to determine the best angle to use when selling their $222 million tax increase, another group was also surveying the district. That survey showed 89% of the district oppose the $222 million tax increase while only 11% support it.
In same survey, when asked, "The Western Placer Unified School District has found money to build a brand new administration building but now they are saying they need a tax increase to build new schools. Does knowing that the school board chose to use its money to build an administrative building instead of schools make you less likely to support a 222 million dollar tax increase?"-- 83% responded with a "yes".
This survey shows conclusively that there is absolutely no way voters will pass a school bond/tax increase.
It takes a significant amount of money to place a bond/tax increase on the ballot, and to run the campaign... and in this case it surely will end in defeat. The money wasted in this losing exercise surely would be better spent to build or update our schools.
If, in the January 21 WPUSD board meeting, the board votes to move forward with this losing campaign, this will surely continue what the 2008 Placer County Grand Jury report, on WPUSD, labeled a "fiscally irresponsible path".
